Horsley Witten Group, Inc. has been awarded a contract with the City of Keene, NH to prepare a Comprehensive Plan. This Plan will include elements on smart growth, renewable energy sources, land use, economic development, transportation and community character. The central theme of the project is sustainability.
Keene is a progressive community already having made significant commitments to reducing carbon emissions and recently having completed a "visioning" process that included input from nearly 800 residents. The vision includes a "vibrant economy", "pedestrian- oriented" commercial downtown areas and a sustainable energy policy. Our job is to help Keene articulate a pathway to achieve this vision. The project will include numerous public meetings and outreach to business leaders and civic organizations
