Planning for energy sustainability is critical in today’s world due to unpredictable fuel prices and the environmental, social, and economic consequences related to climate change. Whether it is through developing approaches to mitigate climate change, or building resiliency to climate change impacts, HW has the experience, tools, and services to help local, state, and federal governments, as well as the private sector, confront global climate change.
We assist government agencies to inventory their energy use and develop strategies for reduction. We work with communities to reduce energy reduction through land use planning techniques that limit transportation-related energy use, encourage renewable and clean sources of energy, and allow for energy efficient building design.
