Water Supply
Horsley Witten Group (HW) assists both private and public clients to solve some of their most pressing water supply planning, permitting, engineering, and design needs.
Our new supply development is coupled with a focus on conservation, leak detection, and water reuse strategies to reduce the need for increased supply capacity. When new supplies are needed they are frequently used to plan for future growth, provide water system flexibility, and provide for emergency redundancy rather than to increase the current volume of water use. Our interdisciplinary background and commitment to Low Impact Design Principles allow us to evaluate potential water supply sites from a holistic perspective intended to minimize potential environmental impacts, build consensus with permitting agencies and stakeholder groups, and expedite the permitting process.
Our GIS and planning expertise allows us to screen potential water supply locations for land use and environmental conflicts; our hydrogeologic expertise allows us to creatively evaluate water supply potential and water quality concerns; and our engineering ability allows us to design effective production, distribution, and storage facilities. HW can provide water supply investigation and engineering solutions to include:
- Comprehensive Water Supply Planning
- Hydrogeologic Assessment
- Water Supply Production, Storage, and Distribution Design
- Water Supply Permitting
- Education and Outreach Support
